Our Horsehair finish celebrates the raw beauty of fire, smoke, and the natural materials used to create it. Each piece is soft and understated from a distance, with warm ivory tones brought to life by flowing black lines and wisps that dance across the ceramic surface. No pattern is ever repeated, making every light completely unique. Paired with our custom solid brass hardware and opal glass diffuser, the result is a sculptural pendant that feels calm, organic, and deeply connected to the natural world.

The finish is created by applying individual strands of horsehair onto the ceramic while it is still glowing hot after being removed from the kiln. As each strand instantly burns away, it leaves behind distinctive carbon markings that become permanently embedded in the surface. Every application is done by hand, allowing the fire to create graceful, one-of-a-kind patterns that can never be duplicated. The result is a finish that embraces the spontaneity of the Raku process while showcasing the quiet elegance of natural materials.
